Birthdays...

Disclaimer: This is my maiden attempt at blogging...if you feel that the blog content is more closely associated with emotions of the fairer sex, then you may be right in thinking so :-p

It was my little sis's bday today, spoke with her and she seemed totally excited..just got me into thinking wats it with birthdays that makes it so special to people...We keep looking forward to it and make plans almost a month in advance. What is it which makes us so happy about birthdays...you grow a year older, and as per my moms theories, you should actually feel sad coz u r moving one step ahead closer to your grave, which is but a preposterous fact. But really, what is it thats attached with birthdays tat is becomes so special for us...Hmmm, the attention! Which other day in the year would you have ppl paying so much attention to you, when you get so much freedom, when for a change mom doesnt yell at you for keeping the tap on :-p..when you can get away with the silliest of things (yaa also the biggest piece of cake :)!! )

Birthdays are coool..and of course the best part about birthdays is 'Surprise- its your bday' set-up :) especially when there are surprise gifts along with it ;-)
totally ecstatic we get- mixed feelings of happiness and surprise, it is a different feeling altogether...beleive me!
Personally birthdays for me means 3 things- Cake, Gifts and Lots of phone calls :-D
I believe no birthday is ever complete without the tradional cake cutting ceremony..be it the favorite chocolate cake from local Monginis shop or the cake baked by mom at home...you just cannot not have a mouthful of it with cream smeared all over your face!! :)

GIFTS...thats something i dont think any person can say no to, especially on their birthday...and there are few people like my sis, who have the cheek to 'demand' gifts even a week before their birthday, as if they its their
birth right! Ok, birthday right i agree..but really it does make us happy doesnt it..

Phone calls...how can that ever be missed...sooo many phone calls, people wishing you...you are inundated with calls whole day..doesnt it feel totally great!! i do, i feel joyous when ppl do remember and call up to wish :)...why only me, i see the smile on my moms face too when she says 'Maalum hai sabne phone kiya wish karne' :) and m sure tats with everyone else too!! With those very phone calls, you end up making plans for ur birthday treats or just catching up with your friends in the nearest mall :-p
And blessed wid a gr8 memory, i often do remind my friends of some other friends birthday..feel happy doin it, coz it would result in another birthday wish :) which reminds me to remind you all tat my bday is still a couple of months away.. :-p

P.S. before you say it..Yes i am totally in love with the idea of celebrating birthdays... kaunse din itna bhaav milega nahi toh!! :-p
